Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to three defenders – Taras Sydorovich, Dmytro Miloserdov and Dmytro Lazurkevich

On Wednesday, August 27, Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Taras Sydorovych, Dmytro Miloserdov and Dmytro Lazurkevich, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The memorial service for Dmytro Lazurkevich will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of Saints Volodymyr and Olga (Vynniki).

The funeral service of all three defenders will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of defenders

Taras Sydorovich (14.12.1969-23.09.2023). A native of Lviv.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 23 of the city of Lviv. Subsequently, he obtained a vocational and technical education at the State Educational Institution “Stavropygius Higher Vocational School of the City of Lviv”.

After completing his studies, he served in the tank troops in Bryansk.

In peacetime, he worked as a carpenter, was fond of fishing. He was an extremely kind and sensitive man.

On the first day of the full-scale invasion, he defended the Motherland from the Russian invaders. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the ranks of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat missions in the southern and eastern directions.

Taras Sidorovich is survived by his wife, two sons, a sister, a brother, nephews and close relatives.

 

Dmytro Miloserdov (29.12.1977-20.09.2023). He was born in the village of Povorsk, Volyn region, in the family of a military man. Having lost his father at an early age, Dmytro was left alone with his mother and sister.

Studied at the Lviv secondary school of grades I-III No. 43 of the Lviv city council of the Lviv region. He dreamed of helping people, so after finishing school he entered the Lviv Medical College “Monada”.

He completed military service in the village of Lypnyki, Lviv Region.

In peacetime, he held the position of a dental technician in the dental laboratory of the city of Lviv, later he went to work in Lithuania. He was fond of sports since his school years, as an adult he was a member of the Lviv city public organization “Society of Lviv Walruses”. In addition, he volunteered at the church, helped with food to those who needed it.

Combat medic. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, without any hesitation, he joined the ranks of the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. He was extremely responsible and desperate, ready to sacrifice himself for the sake of others.

Dmytro Miloserdov is survived by his disabled mother, sister and fiancée.

 

Dmytro Lazurkevich (08.11.1974-20.09.2023). A native of Lviv. Lived in the city of Vinnyki. Education

all in the secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 47 of the city of Lviv. He received his professional and technical education at the former Art Vocational and Technical School No. 64 (today – the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational School of Design and Construction”). After completing his studies, he served in the military in the Kyiv region.

In peacetime, he worked in the construction industry in Lviv. Dmytro Lazurkevich’s passion throughout his life was aquarium science. He was an extremely loving and devoted person.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. Performed combat missions in the eastern direction.

Dmytro Lazurkevich is survived by his parents, brother, wife and 12-year-old son.
