Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to warriors Dmytro Brylyov and Serhii Zelinsky

On Thursday, April 11, Lviv will say goodbye to soldiers Dmytro Bryliov and Serhiy Zelinsky, who defended Ukraine from Russian occupiers.

Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony for the defender Dmytro Bryliov will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

The funeral rite for the defender Serhiy Zelinsky will begin at 14:00 in the Garrison Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul, at 14:00 in the Garrison Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul. Peter and Paul, at 14:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

The soldiers will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Biographical information about the defenders

Dmytro Bryliov (30.06.1973-07.04.2024) Lviv resident.

He studied at the secondary school №20. After graduation, he received vocational education in Lviv.

He did his military service in the ranks of the Air Defense Forces in the Lviv region. Later he was engaged in private repair work.

In his free time, he loved to do crafts, and according to his family, “Dmytro was an extremely kind person and tried to help everyone.”

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from the occupiers. After completing training in Kamianets-Podilskyi, he defended the state in Kharkiv region as part of the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

While performing combat missions to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, he was seriously wounded.

Dmytro Bryliov is survived by his wife, son, aunt, cousin and many friends.

 

Serhii Zelinskyi (12.05.2002 – 11.06.2023)

Serhii Zelinskyi (12.05.2002 – 11.06.2023) was born in the village of Radivtsi, Khmelnytskyi region.

He studied at the Radovtsi Lyceum of the Vovkovynets Village Council of the Khmelnytskyi District, Khmelnytskyi Region.

Later, he continued his studies at the Derazhnyanskyi Lyceum No. 1 named after Petro Striletskyi of the Derazhnyanskyi City Council of the Khmelnytskyi Region, specializing in mechanical engineering.

In his free time, he played football, participated in school competitions and wanted to become a professional football player.

After studying at the lyceum, he was called up for military service in the ranks of the military unit A0543 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he proved to be a disciplined and responsible soldier.

During the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended Ukraine as part of the military unit A4355 in the ranks of the 77th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In March 2023, he got married and dreamed of a long, happy family life. According to his family, “Serhii was a kind, sociable, sincere, devoted, reliable, loving and beloved husband, the best son and a loyal friend. He was a man of his word and always surrounded his family with support and warmth. He wanted to win! He was dedicated to his work. He loved life and sought justice above all else.”

He was killed while performing combat missions as a result of assault operations in the vicinity of the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region.

Serhiy Zelinsky is survived by his wife, mother, three sisters, brother, grandfather and two grandmothers.
