Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to a native of Taiwan who died fighting for Ukraine

25-year-old Taiwanese Tseng Sheng-Guang Jonathan Tseng died fighting for Ukraine. Tomorrow, November 14, Lviv will say goodbye to this Hero. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul, and at 2:30 p.m. – a city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

Tseng Sheng-Guang Jonathan Tseng (12.09.1997-02.11.2022)

A native of Taiwan.

Graduated from Szu Wei Senior High School in Hualien City.

During 2017-2021, he served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of China. Received the military rank of “Corporal”.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He fought against the Russian invaders as part of the 49th separate rifle battalion “Karpatska Sich” of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade “Kholodny Yar” of the operational command “East” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Tseng, he “came to fight on the side of good, for Ukraine and its people.” The Hero is survived by his parents and his wife.
