Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to five more Heroes who defended Ukraine

Tomorrow, September 24, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Artem Tolochko, Mykola Panchenko, Yuriy Popov, Bohdan Zhilovsky and Oleksandr Pylypenko, who died in battles with the Russian invaders.

The funeral ceremony will take place in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, military servicemen will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery. The City Hall urges you to join the farewell ceremonies and refrain from entertaining events and celebrations during this time.

At 10:00 a.m., the funeral ceremony of Artem Tolochka, Mykola Panchenko and Yury Popov will begin, and at 10:40 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

At 4:00 p.m., the funeral ceremony of Bohdan Zhylovskyi and Oleksandr Pylypenko will begin, at 4:40 p.m. – the city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

Route of funeral processions: Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul UGCC (Tetralna Street, 11) – sq. Cathedral – square Rynok (city farewell ceremony) – str. Ruska – st. Basement – str. Volodymyr Vinnichenko – square Soborna – str. Pekarska – st. Shimzeriv – str. Mechnikova – Lychakiv cemetery.

Blue and yellow flags with a mourning ribbon will be hung on the buildings along the route of the columns.

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Artem Tolochko (July 1, 1986-September 17, 2022) from Lviv.

He studied at Lyceum No. 81 named after Petro Sahaidachny of the Lviv City Council. He was a multiple prize-winner of sports competitions. Subsequently, he obtained a higher education at the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

In peacetime, he worked as the deputy head of the limited liability company “Ekogalychproduct”. He was fond of cars and mountain tourism, adored animals. He was an active participant in the patriotic movement.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 103rd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he defended Ukraine as part of the 101st separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Artem Tolochka is survived by his wife, daughter, son, parents and sister.

 

Mykola Panchenko (November 27, 1983-September 17, 2022) from Lviv.

He studied at secondary comprehensive school No. 23 in the city of Lviv. In 2005, he graduated from the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, majoring in “law”.

Personnel military. In 2014-2015, he performed combat missions in the area of ​​the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After returning from the front, he worked in the mobilization department of the Lviv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. In 2020, he returned to the ranks of the 24th Brigade.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the territorial defense. He defended Ukraine as part of the 103rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, later – the 101st separate territorial defense brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Mykola Panchenko is survived by his mother, wife and three daughters.

 

 

 

Yuriy Popov (09.11.1976-17.09.2022) native of Lviv.

Studied at secondary comprehensive school No. 30. Subsequently, he obtained a professional and technical education. In peacetime, he worked as a high-rise loader. He was fond of blacksmithing, team tactical game “airsoftball” and mountain tourism.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he went to war as a volunteer. He defended Ukraine as part of the 103rd separate territorial defense brigade. Later, he fought with the occupiers in the ranks of the 101st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yury Popov is survived by his wife and two sons.

 

 

 

Bohdan Zhylovskyi (June 8, 1981-September 16, 2022) was born in the village of Sydynivka, Brodiv district, Lviv region.

In peacetime, he worked in the construction industry. Participant of ATO. In 2015-2016, he fought against the Russian invaders as part of the A1314 military unit, later – B3675.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he came to the defense of Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Bohdan Zhylovsky is survived by his wife, daughter, father and sister.

 

 

 

Oleksandr Pylypenko (11/13/1994-09/19/2022) Born in Lysychansk.

He studied at Lysychan Lyceum No. 14 of Siverodonetsk District, Luhansk Region. After completing his studies, he entered the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution “Lysychansky Vocational Lyceum”. Subsequently, he studied at the International University of Economics and Humanities named after Academician Stepan Demianchuk.

Participant of ATO. With the beginning of Russian aggression, he fought against the Russian invaders as part of a volunteer battalion. Since 2016, he served in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in the battles for Popasna, Maryanka, Zolote and Zaitseve.

Oleksandr Pylypenko is survived by his parents, wife and sister.
