Lviv to Honor Fallen Soldiers Ihor Kysorets and Nazarii Parashchak on June 9

On Monday, June 9, the city of Lviv will pay tribute to Ukrainian soldiers Ihor Kysorets and Nazarii Parashchak, who died defending their country from Russian invaders. The City Council urges residents and visitors to join the memorial ceremony and refrain from entertainment and celebrations during this time.

The funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Around 12:30 PM, a citywide farewell ceremony will take place at Rynok Square.

Nazarii Parashchak will be laid to rest at Lychakiv Cemetery, in the field of Honorary Burials for modern-day heroes. The farewell for Ihor Kysorets will continue at 1:00 PM in the Church of Peter and Paul in the Riasne district (Lukasevycha Street), with burial at Riasne Cemetery.

Biography of Nazarii Parashchak (24.07.1986 – 25.05.2025):

  • Native of Lviv.
  • Attended Secondary School No. 13, Lviv Management Lyceum, later studied geography at Ivan Franko National University.
  • Served in the 182nd separate logistics battalion in Ternopil region.
  • Worked as a driver and later tried to start his own transportation business.
  • Passionate about history, especially the UPA, reading, and car restoration.
  • Participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
  • Joined the 80th Air Assault Brigade at the start of the full-scale invasion; later transferred to the 155th Mechanized Brigade named after Anna of Kyiv.
  • Fought in battles near Voznesensk and on the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Pokrovske fronts.
  • Awarded the “Silver Cross” by the commander of Operational Command “West”.
  • Survived by his mother, father, and sister.

Biography of Ihor Kysorets (27.11.1976 – 30.05.2025):

  • Born in Pankivtsi village, Brody district, Lviv region.
  • Studied at Lyceum No. 38 and Secondary School No. 92 in Lviv, trained as a radio technician at VPU No. 63.
  • Worked in road construction and for Lvivvodokanal utility.
  • Remembered as kind, helpful, and a sports enthusiast who loved football.
  • Joined the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade in 2024, defended Ukraine on Donetsk and Sumy fronts.
  • Survived by two sisters, godmother, brother-in-law, and three nephews.
