Tomorrow Lviv Region will say goodbye to three Heroes – Volodymyr Belen, Bohdan Prus and Viktor Kakhtzazov

On Wednesday, January 18, Lviv will say goodbye to three more Heroes. Volodymyr Belen, Bohdan Prus and Viktor Kakhtzazov died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral of Volodymyr Belen and Viktor Kakhtzazov will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery. Route of the funeral procession: Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul UGCC (Tetralna Street, 11) – sq. Cathedral – square Rynok (city farewell ceremony) – str. Ruska – st. Basement – st. Volodymyr Vinnichenko – square Soborna – str. Pekarska – str. Shimzeriv – st. Mechnikova – Lychakiv cemetery.

The funeral service of Bohdan Prus will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the Church of the Three Saints in Wola-Homuletska. The serviceman will be buried at the local cemetery.

 

Biographical references of Heroes
Volodymyr Belen (July 12, 1976-January 5, 2023) from Lviv.

 

Studied at Lyceum No. 80 of the Lviv City Council. Obtained a higher legal education at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 1994, he served a term of service in his hometown.

In peacetime, he worked by profession in Lviv, later in the capital. Actively engaged in sports, traveled, was fond of fishing.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the Motherland. He fought against the Russian occupiers in the ranks of the 66th separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Belen is survived by a daughter and a son.

 

Viktor Kakhtsazov (July 7, 1975-December 18, 2022) from Lviv.

 

He studied at the former school No. 14 of the city of Lviv. He graduated from the Higher Vocational School No. 29 of the city of Lviv, majoring in auto mechanic.

In peacetime, he worked as a plumber. He was engaged in swimming, weightlifting, and was fond of football at school.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he came to the defense of the Motherland. He defended its territorial integrity and independence in the ranks of the 210th special separate battalion “Berlingo” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Viktor Kakhtzazov is survived by his wife, daughter and brother.

 

Bohdan Prus was born (May 23, 1982) and lived in the village of Volya-Homuletska

 

He studied at the Hryadivska ZOSH. Since 2015, he has been a member of the ATO. And since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he once again stood up for the country’s defense.

Bohdan Prus is survived by his parents, wife and two children.
