Lviv community to say goodbye to defender Stefan Lopatko tomorrow

Tomorrow, on 22 June, the Lviv community will say goodbye to soldier Stefan Lopatko, who defended Ukraine from Russian occupiers. The defender will be buried in the village of Zarudtsi.

Prayer and farewell will begin at 12:00 at the house where the soldier lived (Zarudtsi village, 36 Zelena Street). Later, at approximately 12:30, the funeral service will take place in the local Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Stefan Lopatko will be buried at the local cemetery in Zarudtsi.

Biographical note of the defence counsel

Stefan Lopatko (01.01.1991-20.06.2024) Born in the village of Zarudtsi, Lviv region.

After graduation, he worked in the property security services sector and at the Silpo supermarket chain, and most recently at Nova Poshta Limited Liability Company.

In his spare time, he was fond of fishing, hunting and cooking. According to his family, he was a calm man who always tried to help everyone.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend the state from the Russian occupiers. He performed combat missions in the Donetsk region as part of the 101st Separate Brigade of the General Staff Protection named after Colonel-General Hennadii Vorobiov of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his service, he was repeatedly seriously injured, but returned to the front.

Stefan Lopatko is survived by his parents, wife, sister and goddaughter.
