On February 5, as part of a prisoner exchange, 150 Ukrainian Defense Forces personnel were released, among them was a resident of Sheptytskyi, Vitalii Dzhos. Vitalii, originally from Zaporizhzhia, has been living in Sheptytskyi for thirteen years with his wife Solomiia and son.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Vitalii responded to the call to volunteer for the army. Serving as a sergeant and driver in a section of man-portable anti-tank grenade launchers at the ‘Stanytsia Luhanska’ border service department, Vitalii was captured in the battles for Lyman in Donetsk region on May 23, 2022. After a while, information about his captivity in Russia was received.
