Roman Levko from Velyki Mosty returns from captivity after large-scale POW exchange

Dear residents of the Velyki Mosty territorial community,

Today, our hearts overflow with tears of joy and profound gratitude — we share a deeply emotional piece of news.

As part of the third stage of a large-scale prisoner of war exchange in the 1000-for-1000 format, 303 Ukrainian defenders have returned home. Among them is our fellow townsman, Roman Levko, born in 1987, from Velyki Mosty!

Roman went missing on August 7, 2023, during a combat mission near Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. Since then, his family endured months of uncertainty, anguish, daily prayers, and unwavering hope.

And now, the long-awaited day has come — Roman is home again!

He has reunited with his wife Olha and his young children, who waited patiently, holding drawings in their hands and faith in their hearts. With his parents, who began every morning with prayers for their son. With his brother, sister, friends, fellow soldiers, and a community that longed for the return of its heroes.

We rejoice wholeheartedly with the Levko family today.

This day is filled with gratitude — to God, to our Defenders, and to everyone who helped make this return a reality.

May these long-awaited embraces bring healing and mark the beginning of a new, peaceful chapter in life.

We continue to believe. We await the return of every one of our Heroes. We pray for each of them and embrace every family still waiting. We stand with you in faith, in hope, and in our shared struggle.

Our Heroes are coming back.
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
Roman, welcome home!
