A resident of Velyke Kolodne village of Zhovtanetska community, soldier Volodymyr Zvir was posthumously awarded the state award “For Courage of the IIIrd degree”
The deceased soldier was awarded in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine of January 29, 2024, Nº35 – for courage, bravery, selfless actions displayed during the performance of combat missions to protect the interests of Ukraine on its state border.
On August 25, 2023, while performing a combat mission as part of the 79th separate airborne assault Tavriya brigade, he came under mortar attack near the village of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.
He died from his wounds.
The order was presented to the family of the fallen soldier by the head of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Major General Valeriy Vavryniuk.
