According to a recent clarification from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, a new regulatory act has been approved concerning the change in deferral conditions for students and educators. In particular, the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1558, dated December 31, 2024, introduces changes regarding deferral periods. Now, students of all levels – from vocational and technical to specialized secondary and higher educational institutions, as well as interns and doctoral candidates, will be able to use a deferral for an entire semester, but not more than six months.
For educators, a deferral is established that lasts until the end of the academic year, which runs from September 1 to August 31 of the following year, with a mandatory requirement for employment at a rate of no less than 0.75. It is worth noting that holiday periods and the end of the academic year do not affect the possibility of utilizing the deferral itself.
The updated rules aim to simplify the deferral procedure and alleviate the burden on TCK and SP employees, as they previously checked a large number of documents every three months. More information can be found at the following link: Go to the site.
