Restoring lost or stolen vehicle license plates requires contacting the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
For this, it is necessary to provide a passport of a citizen of Ukraine, which can be presented in electronic form through the Diia application. If an ID card without residence registration details is provided, an additional certificate is required.
Temporary certificate of a citizen of Ukraine, residence permit for permanent or temporary residence, refugee certificate, or person needing protection certificate are also accepted.
The owner’s identification code, vehicle registration certificate, and in case of theft, a police report are required. In case of loss — a written explanation of the circumstances.
If the owner is a legal entity, a service investigation report is required. The vehicle must be presented for expert inspection.
After entering the data into the Ministry of Internal Affairs database, re-registration is conducted. New certificates and license plates are issued. The found license plates are considered invalid after new ones are issued.
