The traffic accident occurred on November 10 at 11:15 a.m. on the Ternopil-Lviv highway in the village of Lavrykiv, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Renault Megane car, a 23-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, lost control, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with an Iveco Eurocargo ML90E22 truck driven by a 55-year-old resident of the district.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the passenger car received bodily injuries and was hospitalized in intensive care.
According to the fact, the investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
