The Government of Ukraine has supported the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to offer free document recovery for those affected by the war.
Today, the government made a decision to exempt those affected by Russia’s armed aggression from paying for the issuance of a driver’s license and vehicle registration document. **No payment for plastic blanks is required either.**
Here’s how it works: an individual affected by shelling receives a document from an investigator confirming their victim status. With this document, they can approach any service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where an administrator quickly processes the request and issues new documents without any charge.
“Thank you to the Government for supporting this important initiative. In the aftermath of attacks, I often speak with people affected by hostile actions. It’s understandable that they always ask a simple and painful question: ‘Where to seek help when left with nothing?’ We must provide a clear answer: help is nearby,” stated Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.
The next step is the urgent free recovery of ID documents. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is working on addressing this issue.
