On April 23, on the feast day of Saint George the Dragon-slayer, an important event will take place in Drohobych—the consecration of the renovated Saint George Church and the restored iconostasis. After four years of restoration work, the historical iconostasis returns to the sanctuary thanks to the efforts of specialists from the National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine.
The Saint George Church is part of the UNESCO World Heritage, preserving sacred artistic heritage from the years 1658–1667. The consecration will begin with the Divine Liturgy led by His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
