In Novoyavorivsk, an interdenominational Way of the Cross took place, uniting the community in joint prayer and spiritual reflection during Lent. This was reported by the Novoyavorivsk City Council.
On this day, thousands of believers participated in a special prayerful journey, contemplating the sufferings of Jesus Christ, His sacrificial love, and the power of faith. The prayer was led by His Eminence Ihor Vozniak, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Lviv, in concelebration with Bishop Mykhailo Koltun and the clergy of the Novoyavorivsk community.
Together with the faithful, they offered sincere prayers for Ukraine, its people, for peace and the triumph of good over evil. The procession traditionally began at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul (UGCC) and proceeded through the streets around the city. The final station was at the memorial sign “Heroes of the Maidan” on the Heroes’ Memory Alley.
Here, in prayer, they remembered the fallen Defenders of Ukraine — those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state, granting us the opportunity to live and pray. At the conclusion of the Way of the Cross, the rector of the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, Father Andriy Rak, thanked all present for participating in the joint prayer, for unity and the living faith, which today not only unites but also strengthens the Ukrainian people.
