In Lviv Region, the Memory of Second World War Victims to be Honoured

In the Lviv Region on Friday, 8th May, the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War will be observed. Residents and visitors of the region are invited to participate in the events.

At 10:00, flowers and candles will be laid at the cross on the site of the former prisoner of war camp “Stalag-328” on Hrabs’koho Street, 11 in Lviv. Following this, an ecumenical memorial service will be conducted.

“Today, together with the civilised world, we declare ‘Never again’ and honour the memory of the victims of the Second World War. The 8th of May is a day of mourning and a reminder of the dreadful price humanity paid for peace. We bow our heads before the fallen and express our gratitude to all who opposed Nazism” — stated Yuriy Horun, Director of the Department of Communications and Internal Policy of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
