Lviv Scouts Celebrate the 114th Anniversary of the Organisation

On 18 April, a ceremonial celebration was held in Lviv marking the 114th anniversary of the first Plast Pledge. More than 1200 scouts participated in the event, and they were joined by 50 new members. The Plast pledge took place near the Ivan Franko monument, opposite the university.

The Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, presented the scouts with awards from the city community and urged them to create something memorable in honour of Lviv’s 770th anniversary. He expressed confidence in the importance of the scouts for the city, noting that Lviv is hard to imagine without them.

The head of Plast in Lviv, Oksana Stashkiv, emphasised that Plast in Lviv has been actively working for over 35 years, nurturing conscious Ukrainian youth among its 2800 members. The scouts thanked the Lviv City Council for supporting the development of their activities.

This year’s celebration once again highlighted the unity of the scouts and their dedication to God and Ukraine. The day is also an opportunity to remember those who sacrificed their lives for their homeland.
