Border guards discovered a collection of ancient coins at the border with Poland.
During the inspection of a Mercedes minivan crossing the border at the \”Shehyni\” checkpoint, border guards from the 7th Carpathian Brigade found 35 ancient coins. “The vehicle was driven by a 55-year-old resident of the Ternopil region. According to him, the discovered items are a package he received in Germany for further delivery to Ukraine.” The coins of various denominations date from the 18th to the 20th centuries. They were in a cardboard box located in the vehicle’s luggage compartment.
The find has been seized as per protocol. The origin and historical value of the coins will be determined by an expert analysis.
