On September 25, representatives of the CMO ‘Combat Brotherhood of Ukraine’ visited Sheptytskyi to present Volodymyr Dykhtyar, the son of military medic Maria Dykhtyar, with the ‘Father’s Heart’ protective pendant.
Following in his mother’s footsteps, Volodymyr also chose a military career and is currently studying in the 11th grade at the Military Lyceum of the National Army Academy named after Petro Sahaidachny.
‘Today, a mother’s heart continues to beat in her son. We take pride in our cadet and bow our heads to the Heroine’s feat.’
Military medic with the call sign ‘Panther’ began defending the Motherland in 2015 by joining the ranks of the 25th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion ‘Kyivska Rus.” With the onset of the full-scale invasion, Maria served as a captain in the medical service of the 63rd Battalion of the 103rd Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Sadly, on September 2, 2024, Maria Dykhtyar gave her life fighting the enemy, saving her comrades.
