In Horodok, a joint event was held to commemorate and support the families of defenders who are missing or being held in captivity. Local residents combined a symbolic space of remembrance with the campaign “Bells of Hope for Those in Silence”, joining the nationwide flash mob.
To the sound of church bells and the ringing of dozens of small bells in the hands of the relatives of service personnel, participants in the campaign prayed for the servicemen and civilians whose fate remains unknown. A joint prayer was held by the “Light of Hope” stand with portraits of soldiers, with the participation of Fathers Mykhailo and Nazarii Hredil, as well as Tarasii Tsikal.
The families of the missing and prisoners shared mutual support and empathy, emphasising their faith in the return of their loved ones. Participants in the campaign stressed that as long as people remember, pray and stand together, hope for the defenders’ return home remains alive.
Today, at 10:00, the “bells of hope” rang out in different parts of Ukraine as a reminder of the missing and prisoners, so that they would be heard both in our country and across the world. From now on, church bells in their honour will ring every Saturday at 10:00.
Once a month in Horodok, the traditional campaign in support of the families of the missing and prisoners will continue to be held. The organisers report that the date and time of the next gatherings will be announced on the Horodok community’s Facebook page.
