In Lviv on Kirilivska Street, 3a, a festive breakfast was organised for people without permanent homes in celebration of Easter. The event was attended by over 50 individuals who often use the services of the night shelter.
The room with large windows and long tables allowed participants to comfortably enjoy their meal. The tables were adorned with Easter breads, eggs, bread, hot dishes and beverages. The atmosphere was particularly enhanced by an icon of the Virgin Mary on the wall.
The branch of social work with the homeless of the ‘Dzherelo’ Social Services Centre was the organiser of this event. They offer not only overnight accommodation but also comprehensive services: meals, hygiene products, social assistance and support with document recovery.
Thanks to the ‘Corporation of Good Deeds’, the parish of St. Anne and the Church of the Protection of the Mother of God UGCC, hot dishes and Easter products were provided. Bread for the meal was supplied by the ‘Khlibprom’ company. The organisers emphasised the importance of such initiatives in creating a warm holiday atmosphere for people in difficult life circumstances.
Additionally, the Social Welfare Department of the Lviv City Council together with the Ukrainian Catholic University held an Easter breakfast for 175 people, reaffirming the importance of mutual support and compassion on such a significant day.
