On 23 May, the 6th Prayer Breakfast for Heroes Day was held at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, bringing together representatives of the authorities, clergy, military, diplomats, benefactors and the public in joint prayer for Ukraine, its Defenders, and the families of fallen Heroes. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Council.
The event began with a minute of silence for those killed as a result of Russian aggression. After this, the choral chapel “Dudaryk” performed the State Anthem of Ukraine.
Acting Chair of the Lviv Regional Council Yurii Kholod stressed the importance of preserving shared values, expressing gratitude to the military and remembering those who gave their lives for Ukraine.
Throughout the Prayer Breakfast, spiritual leaders of various denominations prayed for peace, victory and the unity of the Ukrainian people. Participants also discussed support for children with orphan diseases and international support for Ukraine.
The event concluded with a joint prayer and the performance of Ukraine’s spiritual anthem “O Great and Only God”.
