Celebrating 55 Years of Creativity: Stebnyk Children’s Music School Marks Its Anniversary

On Sunday, December 22, a festive concert was held at the Stebnyk House of Culture to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Stebnyk Children’s Music School.

For over half a century, this artistic institution has been a hub for nurturing young talents and launching the careers of future professional musicians. In June 2024, the school was officially named after the legendary Ukrainian composer Volodymyr Ivasyuk, a pioneer of Ukrainian pop music, poet, and laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize, who significantly contributed to Ukraine’s musical heritage in the 20th century.

The celebration began with a blessing by Father Oleh Bisyk (UGCC).

Dignitaries attending the event included Drohobych Mayor Taras Kuchma, First Deputy Mayor Roman Beizyk, Head of Culture and Tourism Development Volodymyr Khanas, and members of the Drohobych City Council.

Young performers and teachers delighted the audience with exceptional performances, showcasing their skills and artistry.

To honor the occasion, the Drohobych City Council awarded certificates to:

  • School director Halyna Lemeh,
  • Folk instruments teacher Myron Bordulyak,
  • Piano teacher Iryna Kolinko,
  • Orchestral instruments teacher Lev Kravchuk.

Additionally, the Department of Culture and Tourism Development presented certificates to the school staff.

The event was hosted by Ulyana Voyat and Ivan Kuts, director of the Stebnyk House of Culture.
