The ‘Wave of Preschool Education’ festival took place in Lviv, gathering over 200 specialists in preschool education. They discussed the future of nurseries and the role of innovation in child upbringing. Participants presented successful practices already implemented in Lviv, as reported by the Lviv City Council.
The festival programme included panel discussions, practical workshops, and a space for experience exchange. The workshops focused on educational initiatives in nurseries, such as ‘Nurseries of the Future’, ‘Healthy Smile from Childhood’, ‘Alphabet of Empathy’, and others. Important topics in preschool child upbringing were also discussed, including sex education, supporting children during wartime, and working with children with special educational needs.
The head of the city’s education development department, Olesya Mandzyuk, noted that nurseries are the foundation of a child’s entire educational trajectory. The festival is conceived as a space for ideas, bold decisions, and mutual inspiration, where educators can share experiences, and the city can showcase the development of preschool education in Lviv.
The festival was organised by the education development department of the Lviv City Council in collaboration with partners: the educational humanitarian organisation Early Starters International, the Centre for Professional Development of Pedagogical Workers of Lviv, the Educational Initiative of the Free and Concerned, and the confectionery CACAO.
