This Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3, a large-scale sporting event will be held in Lviv — the “NewRun Lviv” half marathon. The event is significant as it will support a charity initiative “Running for Recovery”, directing funds towards organising sports competitions for veterans.
The events will commence on Saturday at 12:00 with children’s races of 500, 300, and 100 metres. The following day, Sunday at 8:40, adult races will take place over distances of 21, 10, 5, and 1 km.
This year we are grateful to the city for the opportunity to hold the half marathon for the third time and to the sports office — for their support, said Oksana Syvets, director of “NewRun”.
During the race on May 3, some public transport routes in Lviv will undergo changes. Bus and trolleybus routes will be temporarily adjusted to minimise inconvenience for passengers.
In addition, this year’s programme also includes a student run, with 770 students participating, symbolising the years of the city of Lviv.
