Over 1000 athletes gathered in the Lviv region to determine the strongest in karate at the ‘Horuna Cup’ tournament. This is one of the largest tournaments in Ukraine, conducted under the rules of the World Karate Federation. The tournament was founded by Olympic bronze medallist Stanislav Horuna, as reported on Facebook.
The tournament is noted for its fair judging thanks to video replays, spectacular categories, and live broadcasts, making it open and comprehensible to thousands of spectators. The competition programme includes kata and kumite, divided into age and weight categories, allowing young athletes to grow and experienced ones to confirm their level in strong competition.
Karate teaches focus, endurance, and responsibility for every move and decision. It is an important sport for the younger generation, shaping character and awareness. We thank Stanislav Horuna for his contribution to the development of a new karate culture in Ukraine. We wish success to all athletes who work on themselves daily, overcoming doubts and moving forward.
