Tu Stan! – 2024 Festival invites you to a medieval celebration
From 2 to 4 August 2024, everyone will be able to plunge into the atmosphere of antiquity. Admission is free for combatants and defenders of Ukraine.
Every August, Tustan Fortress turns into a living stage of medieval history, and this year will be no exception. From 2 to 4 August 2024, everyone will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of antiquity by taking part in the Tu Stan 2024 Historical Reenactment and Living History Camp.
The Tu Stan festival is the oldest historical festival in Ukraine, which has been running continuously since 2006. The uniqueness of the event lies in its focus on a specific period of the past – the time of the existence of the rock city of the Tustan fortress, dating from the 9th to the 16th centuries. This is one of the best ways to learn about the history of our country, feel the spirit of antiquity and enjoy cultural authenticity.
“Tu Stan is Ukraine’s oldest historical festival, which has been running continuously since 2006. The event’s peculiarity is its focus on a specific period of the past – the time of the existence of the rock city of the Tustan fortress in the 9th to 16th centuries. And it is worth noting that this is one of the best, most interesting and effective ways to study the history of our country,” said Iryna Havryliuk, Director of the Department for Culture, Nationalities and Religions at the Lviv Regional State Administration.
After a five-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and a full-scale war, the festival is back. Many re-enactors are now defending our country on the front lines, and some, unfortunately, have joined the heavenly army.
Traditionally, combatants and defenders of Ukraine are entitled to free admission. The organisers encourage everyone to join this celebration of history, culture and patriotism.
The Tustan Fortress is waiting for you to plunge into the unforgettable atmosphere of the Middle Ages and pay tribute to our history and heroes.
