Competitions to Support Veterans to be Held in Vynnyky

In Vynnyky on 25th April, the first stage of the KORDON RACE and KORDON TRAIL competitions will take place, which are the largest military-tactical races of the season in western Ukraine. The main aim of the event is to raise funds for the creation and development of the veteran training centre, Kordon Academy, which will help veterans adapt to civilian life and acquire new skills.

Participants will start under a large inflatable arch with the inscription ‘Kordon Race’. They will face a course with over 20 unique obstacles and several participation formats: a trail run of nearly 15 km, main competitive distances for amateurs, professionals, and teams, an adaptive distance for veterans with amputations or disabilities, an easier distance for families and friends, as well as a special race for children.

On the competition grounds, there will be a knowledge and activity zone where workshops will be held, including demonstrations by dog handlers. The competition will feature a mentor from the UNBROKEN centre — 35-year-old Roman Chernenko, who lost his right limb during service in the 93rd Mechanised Brigade ‘Kholodny Yar’.

The event schedule includes participant registration from 08:00 to 11:30, a general warm-up, an official opening, a briefing for journalists, an award ceremony for winners, and other activities. Transport to the event location is organised from the Main Railway Station and Petrushevych Square.
