Today, 20 May, the final of the 2025–2026 Ukrainian Football Cup will take place in Lviv. The event will be held at the Arena Lviv stadium, where Dynamo Kyiv and FC Chernihiv will compete. Experts note that this year’s tournament was held in a new format with 68 participating teams, 22 of which are amateur.
Roman Khimyak, Director of the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration, emphasised that it is a great honour and new experience for Lviv, as the decisive match last took place at the ‘Arena Lviv’ ten years ago. We are grateful to the Ukrainian Football Association and the services responsible for match security.
Despite current restrictions, over 5,000 fans are planned to be admitted to the stands, ensuring an atmosphere of a true sporting celebration. Oleg Yehorov, a representative of the Ukrainian Football Association, remarked that Lviv was chosen as the venue for the final due to the security situation and the city’s strong football traditions.
