200 children arrive in Lviv region for the second session of the Carpathian Change project

The second session of the Carpathian Change physical education and wellness camp has begun in Lviv region. Two hundred children have arrived in the region from frontline and temporarily occupied areas of Kharkiv and Sumy regions.

Among the participants are children of service personnel, police officers, rescuers, as well as children of Heroes who died defending Ukraine. All of them live in communities that are constantly under enemy shelling.

Over the course of the two-week stay, a full programme of recreation and recuperation has been arranged for the children: sports training, creative workshops, excursions, hikes in the Carpathians, as well as the opportunity to make new friends.

The national project “Carpathian Change” is being implemented with the support of the President of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ukrainian Association of Football and the regional military administrations of Kharkiv and Sumy regions. The aim of the initiative is to give children from frontline communities the chance to regain their strength, feel cared for and, at least for a while, take their minds off the realities of war.

The organisers hope that the time spent at the camp in Lviv region will be a source of positive emotions and warm memories for the participants, sustaining them in the future.
