On Sunday, June 4, on the Day of the Holy Trinity, FC “Danish Textiles” will play a match of the 5th round of the first league of the Lviv region against the team “Shakhtar” (Chervonograd).
The fundamental nature of the confrontation between the football teams of Sokal and Chervonograd has been known since the last century. The matches between these teams have always had a special character… The match on June 4 will not be an exception.
Teams need points to qualify for the final stage of the first league. After 4 rounds, “Datsky Tekstil” with 7 points is on the 2nd place in the tournament table of group “A” of the first league. Shakhtar currently closes the standings (6th place) with 3 points after a home win against Zhovkva.
Today, Chervonograd “Shakhtar” is a harmonious combination of experience and youth. Along with well-known performers on our territory (Nazar Raisha, Roman Vasyuta, Ivan Semiryak, Mykola Bereza, Ruslan Martych), the team under the leadership of coach Mykola Kvas acquires football skills of a cohort of young promising football players from Chervonograd. In addition, this season Shakhtar was strengthened by 27-year-old ex-defender of the youth national team of Ukraine Ivan Lobai, who in his career defended the colors of Karpaty, Rukha, Lviv and the Estonian club Nimme Kalju.
In 2023, FC “Datsky Tekstil” somewhat updated its own team, enabling the progress of young football players from Sokal. Of course, the absence of Yuriy Yastrub, Nazariya Mukh and Stepan Sologub, who graduated from Karpaty, Vorskli and Dynamo, respectively, this season for various reasons, cannot but affect the team’s game.
