A further 31 agricultural enterprises in the Lviv region will receive UAH 2.7 million in financial support from the regional budget under the Comprehensive Programme for the Support and Development of Agriculture for 2021–2026.
The decision to provide the funds was taken at a meeting of the commission responsible for selecting recipients of financial support under this programme.
The funding will be directed to several areas:
- compensation of interest under financial leasing agreements;
- subsidies for the cultivation of vegetable, melon and legume crops;
- partial reimbursement of the cost of machinery for a veteran farming enterprise.
The Lviv Regional Military Administration emphasises that the new support mechanism is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized producers, in order to stimulate the cultivation of a greater volume of local vegetable and niche products.
Particular emphasis is placed on the development of veteran entrepreneurship, so that service personnel returning from the front have the opportunity to start or develop their own farms and remain economically active.
