In the second ten-day period of September, predominantly autumnal weather set in across Lviv region, with fluctuations in temperature and the passage of atmospheric fronts. The average air temperature for the period across the region ranged from 12.3 to 15.1° above zero, which overall corresponds to the long-term norm.
On the warmest day, 20 September, the maximum temperature rose to 23–26°. During the colder spell, minimum values dropped to 3–9° above zero.
Throughout the ten-day period, heavy showers of varying intensity occurred across the entire territory of the region. The total amount of precipitation for the period was 7–25 mm, which corresponds to 23–93% of the ten-day norm.
According to data as of 18 September, reserves of productive moisture in the upper soil layers increased slightly, but remained insufficient in areas allocated for sowing winter cereal crops. In the 0–10 cm soil layer they amounted to only 1–13 mm.
At the same time, agrometeorological conditions in the second ten-day period of September were generally favourable for the completion of the vegetation of late agricultural crops and for carrying out the planned fieldwork.
