Halloween events on Okinawa military bases: list of activities

Military bases on Okinawa have prepared a series of events for Halloween 2026. The programme includes a haunted house, a themed run, beach camping, as well as children’s entertainment. This was reported by Stars and Stripes.

At Camp Shields, a “Haunted House” will be held in building 7145. It will be open on 23–24 and 30–31 October from 18:30 to 22:00. Admission is $10 per person.

Several events are planned at Torii Station. On Halloween itself, 31 October, the “Run, SCREAM, RUN!” race will take place. Registration is open until 28 October, and on the day of the event participants must register from 17:30 near Pavilion 5. The entry fee is $25, and participants are required to have a torch or lantern.

On the same day, the Torii library (building 248) will host “Spooky Story Time & Trunk or Treat”. The event will run from 16:00 to 17:30. There will also be “Haunted Beach Camping” at Torii Beach: check-in on 31 October from 14:00, check-out on 1 November by 11:00. Camping fees: for adults and teenagers aged 15 and over — $45, for children aged 4–14 — $20, and children under 3 may take part free of charge.

Separate Halloween programmes are also being prepared at Camp Lester, Camp Courtney and Okuma Beach, but organisers will announce details of these events later.

At Kadena Air Base on 30 October, the library (building 451) will host “Not-so-spooky Halloween” for children aged 2–5. The event will run from 10:30 to 14:00. That evening, the Emery Lanes bowling centre (building 113) will hold a “Kids’ Halloween Bash” from 18:00 to 21:00. The cost is $25 per lane for 2.5 hours of play including shoe hire. The costume contest will start at 19:30.

Details of Halloween events at Kadena Marina, as well as additional events at Camp Courtney, Camp Foster, Torii Station and Camp Shields, will be announced separately by the organisers.
