The Floral Clock in Rynok Square, Lviv Adorned with Violas

On the central square of Lviv, Rynok Square, the first floral compositions have been planted. Blue and yellow violas have adorned the ‘Floral Clock’, forming the colours of the Ukrainian flag. A total of 2608 flowers have been planted. Benefactors have partially funded the work, as reported by the Lviv City Council.

The clock is square-shaped and is installed at an angle on a massive green base. All the dials are planted with live flowers, and flowers are planted in sectors on the clock and in flowerbeds nearby. For the Easter celebrations, it is planned to arrange flowerbeds near the monument to Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi and near the church of St. George.

The city council encourages entrepreneurs to contribute to the greening of the city by planting flowers on their premises. It is worth remembering that the floral clock in Rynok Square was installed in 2010, but its history spans over half a century.
