On the US military bases Camp Foster, Camp Lester and in the Plaza Housing residential complex on Okinawa, Halloween will be celebrated on 31 October with traditional trick-or-treating for children. The organisers emphasise the need to follow the established safety and etiquette rules during the event.
The event is scheduled for 31 October from 17:00 to 21:00. For SOFA members, MLAs, residents and their families, the Sada Housing, New Chatan Housing and Futenma Housing areas on Camp Foster, as well as Plaza Housing, will be open. Celebrations at Camp Lester, however, are permitted only for SOFA members and residents and are not open to MLAs and their families.
For MLAs to access the areas where sweets will be handed out, specific entry gates have been designated: 3, 5, 7 and 8A. All guests must leave Camp Foster and Plaza Housing no later than 22:00.
The organisers have also prepared detailed guidance on safe movement, event zones, rules of conduct and parental supervision. They recommend familiarising yourself with the full list of requirements and instructions on the Camp Foster Facebook page.
