In Calgary, the Southcentre Mall car park was turned into a drive-in cinema in support of Kids Help Phone

The car park at the Southcentre Mall shopping centre in Calgary was temporarily turned into a drive-in cinema to raise funds and draw attention to the work of Kids Help Phone, a charity providing support for children and young people.

In the evening there was a screening of the animated film “Shrek”, which viewers watched from their cars. According to CTV News Calgary, around 150 cars with Calgary residents attended the event.

The organisers combined a family outing with fundraising: participants were able to make donations in support of Kids Help Phone, which provides psychological assistance to children and teenagers in Canada.

The event became one of the ways to raise money while also reminding the community how important accessible support is for young people in difficult life situations.
