Entrepreneurs operating in the area of active hostilities can now receive grants.
The government has expanded the “Own Business” grant programme. Young entrepreneurs under the age of 25 will be able to receive a grant of up to UAH 150,000 to start their own business with the obligation to register as a sole proprietor. The requirement to create jobs is not mandatory. After 3 years, such entrepreneurs will be able to receive another grant under the “Own Business” programme on general terms in the amount of up to UAH 250 thousand, with an obligation to create up to 2 jobs.
The Government has also expanded the categories of grant recipients under the “Own Business” programme to include
- wives and husbands of fallen soldiers or servicemen in the amount of up to UAH 500 thousand
- wine producers;
- entrepreneurs operating in the area of active hostilities.
Another innovation of the “Own Business” grant programme is that entrepreneurs were allowed to lease water bodies and buy aquaculture for breeding them with grant funds.
“Over the two years of the government programme ‘Own Business’, 93 farmers in Lviv region have raised UAH 23.5 million for business development. This makes it possible to create more than 190 new jobs during the implementation of grant projects,” said Liudmyla Honcharenko, acting director of the Department of Agricultural Development.
