In Lviv, a 46-year-old priest’s wife has given birth to her seventh child, which came as a surprise to the family. The couple no longer expected an addition at such an age, but were delighted by the news, as they consider each child a gift from God, according to the Lviv City Council.
Natalia Kurpita, who has been married to Father Petro for 28 years, did not anticipate another child. They had dreamed of having three children, but over the years their family expanded to seven. After three daughters, they had a fourth, fifth, and sixth. When Natalia became pregnant for the seventh time, they no longer expected a son.
The birth took place naturally at 39 weeks. On the day of Saint Marianna’s remembrance, Natalia gave birth to her seventh daughter, whom they named Maryana. Despite potential complications, the family is overjoyed with the new addition.
Nadiya Chaplinska, an obstetrician-gynaecologist at Saint Anna’s Hospital, noted that Natalia is a woman of great strength and faith, who loves children immensely. The baby girl scored 9.9 on the Apgar scale.
Saint Anna’s Hospital is known among locals as the maternity hospital on Mechnykova Street, a modern women’s health and reproductive medicine facility with six departments, staffed by experienced specialists.
