In Lviv, 23-year-old Lida has become an example of care by taking her younger brother Ivan and niece Anya under her guardianship. This decision was made due to difficult circumstances in the family, where the mother and stepfather abused alcohol. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
Lida, who had been living abroad for some time, returned to Ukraine to assess the situation. She realised that for the children’s safety, it was better for them to stay at the “Ridni” Centre for Social Support of Children and Families. Ivan received the necessary medical care, and little Anya took her first steps at the centre.
Lida returned to Lviv, rented accommodation and found a job with a flexible schedule to ensure proper care for the children. She became a reliable support for Ivan and Anya, consciously changing her own life plans.
The director of the “Ridni” centre, Sister Yulia, noted that the story of these children is special, as they are not biological siblings, but their bond and care for each other are impressive. The Lviv City Council encourages those willing to help the children to contact the “Children’s Affairs Service” department.
