On Mazepa Street, during scheduled pipe replacement works, water utility workers rescued a cat that had become trapped inside the pipes.
During the lunch break, the animal climbed into one of the pipes and was then unable to get out on its own. Animal welfare volunteer Olena noticed this and asked the water utility for help.
The municipal team responded promptly to the call, chose a safe way to reach the animal and successfully pulled the cat out of the pipe without damaging the infrastructure.
The authors of the report thanked the water utility staff for their sensitivity, professional actions and daily work in ensuring the water supply, as well as for their willingness to help those in need. A video of the rescue has been posted on volunteer Olena’s page.
