Roman Prypin from Babyna Writes Poems About the War

Military serviceman Roman Prypin, a resident of Babyna village in Sambir district, has been defending Ukraine since 2014 as a member of the Armed Forces. His story is marked by resilience and dedication to duty.

As a participant in the defence of the Kyiv direction and the battles for Bucha and Irpin, Roman sustained severe injuries during shelling in the Donetsk region in 2025. After prolonged treatment and rehabilitation, he returned to service, joining the Sambir district police security department.

He is the eldest in a large family and a role model for his younger brothers Andrii and Vasyl, who also went on to defend the country. Roman’s poems, which he has been writing since his youth, have gained new meaning since the onset of the war, reflected in the collection ‘Fragments of Memory, War Poems’. His story is an example of courage and indomitability.
