A New Centre for Disabled Children to Open in Dubliany

A new centre for children and young people with disabilities will begin operations in Dubliany, being the first of its kind in the community and capable of accommodating up to 20 individuals at once. This centre will become part of the expanded network of social services in the Lviv community, making services more accessible to many people who require special assistance.

The social services and rehabilitation centre “Dzherelo” will lease premises at 25 Shevchenko Street. Upon completion of renovations, the premises will be accessible and inclusive for visitors. A key feature of the centre will be the provision of daytime services to children from 4 years old and young people with disabilities up to 45 years old.

According to Zoreslava Liulchak, the head of “Dzherelo”, “visitors will have the opportunity to engage in creative activities, communicate, relax, socialise and make friends in a safe environment under the supervision of specialists”. The centre will provide a one-off meal and organise transport for those who require it. Currently, many children and young people have to travel to other centres for professional help, which requires significant effort.

The adaptations to the premises will be funded from non-budgetary sources. The space will be zoned according to the needs of visitors, with rooms equipped for activities, relaxation, and development.
