In April, 55 Babies Were Born in Drohobych Region

In April, the Drohobych community welcomed new residents — 55 children were born in the maternity ward of the first city hospital. Among them were 28 boys and 27 girls, as well as two babies from families internally displaced from the Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. A family from the capital of Ukraine welcomed twin boys.

Medical professionals emphasise that each birth is the result of the coordinated efforts of doctors, midwives, and the entire medical staff. Every new life is an important contribution to the development of the community and the state.

To support young families, Mayor Taras Kuchma, along with the head of the family and youth department, Oleksandra Pashko, regularly visits the maternity ward. During these visits, families are presented with packages containing essential items and symbolic embroidered shirts for the newborns. This practice was initiated at the start of the full-scale invasion.

In addition, the community is supported by international partners. The maternity ward received 200 hygiene kits from the United Nations Population Fund, which are distributed to new mothers. Despite all challenges, the community continues to grow and support young families, as it is in children that our future and strength lie.
