In Ulychne, Farewell to Defender Mykola Harasymyak

In the village of Ulychne, a farewell was held for Defender Mykola Harasymyak. Four priests from Ulychne, Dobrohostiv, and Sil’tse, together with comrades, family, and the entire community, accompanied 52-year-old Mykola Harasymyak on his final journey on March 5. He was demobilized from the army over a year ago due to a severe oncological illness that he could not overcome. Mykola Petrovych Harasymyak was born on November 19, 1973, in the village of Dobrohostiv, and after marriage, he lived in Ulychne. Together with his wife Maria, they raised two children. Mykola had many plans that were shattered by the war. For over fifteen years, he worked at the funeral services company “Vichnist” in Truskavets, traveling with products all over Ukraine. During one of the trips, he received a summons and was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as long as he could until the illness broke him. Mykola died on March 4, 2023. From the deceased’s home to the Church of Saint Paraskeva, the hearse was accompanied by four fathers: Fr. Petro, Fr. Yaroslav, Fr. Lyubomyr, and Fr. Vasyl. The church bells tolled sadly, reminding of the brevity of human life. The farewell ceremony took place in the church, after which the mournful melody of “Eternal Memory” resounded over the Ulychne cemetery. Eternal memory to the Defender of Ukraine Mykola Harasymyak and Heavenly Kingdom. May he rest in peace. We express our sincere condolences to the family on the loss of their dearest person: husband, father, brother.
