In Lviv, veteran Yaroslav Melnychuk, after serving in the Armed Forces, has revitalised the family dental practice, modernising it with the help of grant support from a city programme. He received 260,000 hryvnias from the ‘Courage to Business’ project, implemented by the city in collaboration with international partners.
Yaroslav belongs to a family of doctors, inheriting his professionalism in the field of dentistry from his parents. As a dental surgeon, he has often assisted military personnel, frequently providing services free of charge. Yaroslav began his career on the front line after Russia’s full-scale invasion, joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine out of patriotic duty.
Upon returning to civilian life, Yaroslav decided to reopen the family business — a dental surgery at 3 Maksymovycha Street in Lviv, which formerly belonged to his father. He utilised the grant funds to purchase modern equipment, including a diagnostic microscope, which significantly improved service quality.
Melnychuk learned about the ‘Courage to Business’ programme from acquaintances — it offered him training and practical skills that assisted in the implementation of his business idea. Thanks to the support from his family and fiancée, Yaroslav is developing his practice, continuously improving services and aiding other veterans in returning to peaceful life.
