
At the age of 75, after a prolonged illness, the renowned conservationist and ecologist Mykhailo Huk from Lviv region has passed away. He was a deputy of the first democratic convocation of the Lviv Regional Council.
Mykhailo Vasylovych headed the Lviv Regional Department of Nature Conservation, served as Deputy Head of the Regional Committee for Nature Conservation, and later led the Regional Department of Ecology. He was also the head of the Lviv Regional Organisation of the Ukrainian Society for Nature Conservation, a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, and Vice-Consul of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Bulgaria in Lviv.
Thanks to his professional activities and dedication to the cause, many conservation areas and valuable ecological complexes were preserved in the Lviv region. He was respected for his fairness, exacting standards, humanity, and commitment to his work.
The Lviv Regional Council expresses sincere condolences to the family, friends, and all who knew and respected Mykhailo Vasylovych. The bright memory of him will forever remain in the hearts of colleagues, friends, and like-minded individuals. Eternal memory.
