Concerned Citizens Rescued Woman Who Fell Through Ice

In the Sheptytsky district, a woman fell through the ice but was saved thanks to concerned citizens.

On January 22 at 11:24, the Rescue Service received a report about an incident in the village of Zhvirka. A woman born in 1978 fell through the ice near a bridge over the Western Bug River. Local residents pulled her out of the water and handed her over to medics.

The woman, along with her child, came to the river to feed the swans. She fell through the thin ice, but a woman passing by the bridge reacted in time. She stopped her car and asked for help. The men pulled the woman from the water.

This case demonstrates how concern and quick reaction can save lives. Rescuers emphasize: thin ice is deadly dangerous. Do not go on the ice, especially with children.
