
Goods worth hundreds of thousands of hryvnias have been discovered at the Ukrainian-Polish border.
At the “Shehyni” checkpoint, border guards of the 7th Carpathian detachment, together with customs officers, uncovered a series of violations indicating illegal movement of goods across the border. In recent days, there have been attempts to import goods worth approximately 850 thousand hryvnias.
During the inspection of a Mercedes minivan entering Ukraine, 88 cosmetic sets were found, with an estimated value exceeding 100 thousand hryvnias. Another Mercedes contained jewelry, world-brand perfumes, and a tea set, valued at 450 thousand hryvnias.
An equally intriguing situation occurred when leaving Ukraine. In a Ford vehicle, four antique coins dated from 1900-1936 were found among personal belongings.
Additionally, 45 pairs of branded shoes were seized from the luggage compartment of another Mercedes minivan. The assessed value may exceed 100 thousand hryvnias.
The list concludes with 17 units of electronics: smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and headphones, which were attempted to be brought into Ukraine in another Mercedes. The estimated value of the devices is about 200 thousand hryvnias.
All goods have been confiscated, and corresponding protocols have been drawn up for the offenders.
